Are you a player or spectator?

New DiscoveryI have been fortunate enough over most of my life to be gifted with a curiosity that has meant that I never seem to ‘settle’. There is always something else to look at, something more to explore, something to investigate, to learn. With each stone that seems to get turned over to see what is underneath, I am truly amazed at what appears. Truly amazed – whether this a new word, a new recipe, or a new country that I am about to explore.

As you will know from many of my articles, I have a fascination with personal development. This can be my own development or that of others. One of the things I love to do is work with people where I can challenge their status quo…..and then marvel at what they achieve, when they thought they were doing fine. I have been working with a client recently who is making bold steps, when not so long ago they thought they too, were doing just fine. It is a revelation, the years fell away, their eyes lit up, they were eager, enthusiastic and keen.

Recently, I was invited to be the keynote speaker at an event in London where I thought I would take a new step into exploring what could be, rather than accepting ‘what is’. The audience was really keen to stretch their boundaries too – well, after a few questions they were! I love the interaction with people, so unless I am told not to, I arrive early, have a coffee and chat with a few people, so I can start to get acquainted. Once I start to speak I then have a few people who I have connected with. At this event, I had spoken with a few really interesting people beforehand, and sensed a keenness to ‘explore’ – so that is what we did.

I am busy developing an event that is unusual, and challenging in a very pleasant way, for those who are interested in pushing their own boundaries. My target market is people who want to step up to a new level – a level that will impact more than just their work. These will be people who are already aware that the world of 21xx is fantastic, and also know there is more opportunity for growth, beyond just their work. This may even be about their own legacy in their work, their community, their family, their own unique life all at a very personal level too. This will be especially so if they are far from the autumn years of life.

An aspect of what I have been creating is the capability to develop clarity of direction – more will have to wait till I reveal the next stage (unless you wish to get in touch because your own curiosity has invoked an itch! I am happy to share with those where this curiosity resonates, and who wish to be a founder and perhaps a player of what will become….).

My own legacy is clear – I want to be known as a player, not a spectator of life.

Enough of my next steps for the moment – but perhaps the article on this link may capture your imagination.

It may just start to let a shaft of light evoke the need for your next step.

Do get in touch if this makes you want to scratch that itch!!

Peter
