Keeping our batteries well charged!

Hi there,

Autumn by church 2009I have been very busy working on a project at the moment and slowly I realised I was being less effective. The time it took to do things was longer than usual. My mind was wandering. And still I pushed on. Then it struck me, I was not taking that time out to recharge my batteries. As tough as it was to leave the project unfinished I went to visit a friend.

We had a great lunch, shared a few stories since we last met and then took off into the mid afternoon air. It was great – the birds were chatting away, the autumn leaves were golden, the sky was fantastic with plump clouds sitting against a setting sun. We tramped down a lane, over a ford, up a hill, across a very muddy field, over an electric fence (which I discovered was very much ‘on’…ouch!) past the church where the cows came to check us out, with their noses pushing though the fence. Then back for a steaming pot of tea – wonderful. Not a moment to think about that project, time invested in a great friendship. Wow what a treat……

And yes, the project did get finished and was much the easier and more fun after my ‘time out’.

A question – what are you doing to keep your batteries well charged?

Peter

My good wishes.
