The picture you see is The Hive in Worcester, England. It is a building that has caused some local controversy due to the design – some people love it whilst others are less convinced.
One thing that is clear, the concept is ‘different’.
The building houses the first combined university and public library in Europe. Another achievement has been the recognition of the design and it is on the list of potential buildings being considered for an architectural award. Like it or not, it has been noticed.
As I was walking past the building, I stopped and took this picture. It is from the far side of the river and it got me thinking.
A few questions that I need to consider hit me like the blast of cold air that struck as I cleared the trees:
- Am I being noticed for what I do?
- Am I being noticed in a positive light?
- Am I trying to fit in or be a little controversial?
Now are those questions got me thinking – what about you?
My recognition as the first accredited Insights Discovery Practitioner for Deeper Discovery, worldwide, is all very well but where could I make its’ impact most felt in what I do?
Now that is the next question that came to mind as I strode across the bridge keen to put some answers on paper! Walking is great, it gives you time for thoughts to surface.
My good wishes,
Peter
