Well, here in England autumn has suddenly cast golden colours into our lives. And what glorious colours they are too. I never remember if the colours are always so magical at this time of year, but this year we seem to be in for a treat. Rather than it being the end of summer and lamenting the loss of the truly warm weather, yes, even in Britain lest we should forget, a new season beckons us.
It brings fantastic light, wonderful mornings where the mist hovers over the rivers and fields….and the trees pierce their way up into the sky defying the mystic web that shrouds them. Just wonderful if we allow the time to see and value rather than shrug and hold our head low.
I took the picture you see in the full sun of the day. With the warmth on my back I was drawn to think about the past few months.
- What had I achieved in this time?
- What deeper discovery had I made about myself, about the world about me?
- What new experiences had I encountered?
- What laughter and time had I kept special for those who play an important part in my life?
This quiet reflection only took a few minutes to add a beaming smile….and also a slight twinge of what also could have been, should have been and still needs to be. A quick written action point means that some of those thoughts won’t escape into the mists of autumn.
So….
- As we start to change seasons, when the new period of work starts to gather pace and everyone is back in their swing, have you reflected?
- Have you had any deeper discovery, new insights, new experiences?
- Have you any outstanding actions that need to be completed before the year is out?
- Is now a good time to pop those into your journal or diary before other things take over?
I hope so, because if not now, when?
My best wishes,
Peter
